Overview

The Head of Partnerships role will oversee critical functions like business development (inbound and outbound pipeline), the grant program, and supporting existing ecosystem partners. This role will work closely with the DevRel, DeFi/IPFi, and marketing teams on technical integrations and feedback loops, pipeline coordination and synergy, and ecosystem marketing support. We are looking for a highly experienced candidate with a proven track record of operational excellence, an analytical mindset to spot promising projects, a detail-oriented approach, and who understands the complexity of a web3 ecosystem (L1/L2).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the BD function to ensure clear prioritization and timely follow-through while minimizing unnecessary overhead/complexity, with the ability to provide timely snapshots and progress reports.
  • Work closely with the DevRel team to structure the next phase of our grant program to support ecosystem priorities for each stage, ensuring a clear assessment framework, impact target, and allocation planning are aligned with Foundation priorities, and operates within an appropriate level of public transparency and accountability
  • Develop and execute strategies to address ecosystem demand or fill important gaps to achieve growth objectives for each phase.
  • Oversee strategic partnerships and relationships that can contribute meaningful impact to the ecosystem.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Marketing, and Product to develop go-to-market strategies.
  • Structure and propose ecosystem grants based on priorities within policy bounds

Qualification

  • 7+ years of relevant work experience, including prior experience in a business development/partnerships, ecosystem growth, or strategy role at an L1/L2 blockchain or similar infra projects
  • Prior experience in venture capital, investment banking, consulting, private equity, or similar is a plus
  • Good understanding of the nuances and complexities of a web3 ecosystem and the levers needed to bootstrap a thriving network
  • Proven ability to quarterback and execute deals end-to-end, including managing key internal and external stakeholders across a variety of functions
  • Team player who’s comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment while wearing many different hats
  • Excellent English communication skills in both written and verbal form
  • Having an existing crypto network of dapp builders, HNW individuals, and investors is a plus
  • Self-starter who’s detailed-oriented with the ability to handle ambiguity
